Javanese Christian Churches (GKJ)
The Javanese Christian Churches were founded in 1931. They have 248
congregations and 25 classes with 567 unorganized churches or preaching
stations. The 181 ministers serve some 230,000 members and regular
attenders. They meet every three years in a synod.
In 1998, the GKJ adopted a new church order. This followed a new
doctrinal statement in 1996, an effort to contextualize their Reformed
tradition.
