Bringing Reformed Church Leaders Together

Christian Reformed Church of Nigeria (CRCN)

The Christian Reformed Church of Nigeria was formally organized in 1951, with a ratification of that decision in 1954. Its first congregation, however, organized by the Sudan United Mission, was founded in 1922. Johanna Veenstra, one of the first foreign missionaries of the Christian Reformed Church, was a major influence in the early formation of the CRCN. They have 107 congregations with more than350 unorganized churches or preaching stations. The 230 ministers and 250 evangelists serve some 350,000 members and regular attenders. The churches meet twice a year in general church council. They have adopted the Canons of Dort and the Belgic Confession as their doctrinal standards.

The CRCN also operates one Christian Secondary School, and its congregations manage about 15 primary schools. The CRCN publishes a full-color magazine quarterly, the CRCN Beacon.
